Can I pick up my order locally?
Yes. We're in Burleson, TX, in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Call or text 817-440-4862 and we'll set up a pickup time.
Do you ship?
Yes, we ship nationwide. Shipping is calculated at checkout.
I'm Ag/Timber exempt. Can I buy tax-free?
Yes. Most of our customers do. Apply once here with your Ag/Timber number and a photo of your certificate. We review it quickly and let you know when your account is approved. After that, just log in and sales tax comes off automatically.
What's the difference between the waxed and unwaxed kits?
Waxed kits come with the boxes already waxed for weather protection, so they can go outside right away. Unwaxed kits are left bare so you can paint, stain or seal them however you like. We recommend finishing unwaxed boxes before use.
Do the kits come with frames?
Our wood kits include every frame: 20 in the 2-box kit and 30 in the 3-box kits, all with beeswax-coated foundation. The Auto-Flow kit includes 7 flow frames for the honey super; brood frames are sold separately. The insulated hive ships without frames and takes standard deep frames. Our 30-pack of deep frames fills it.
Why is there a free "Box 2 of 2" in my cart?
The insulated hive kit and the Auto-Flow kit ship in two boxes. Box 2 is added to your cart automatically at no charge so the whole kit ships. Please leave it in your cart.
How much assembly is involved?
All kits need some assembly. A pre-drilled medium super takes about 15–20 minutes with basic tools. Our one-piece plastic frames just snap together, with no nails or wire.
Will your boxes and frames fit my existing hive?
Yes, if your hive is standard 10-frame Langstroth. Our deep frames are 9-1/8" tall.
What size is the beekeeping suit?
The adult suit is an XL that fits a wide range of people. It fits a 6'2" adult and a 5'6" adult comfortably. The kids' suit fits children about 4'6" and under, roughly ages 6–12, and has elastic at the wrists, ankles and waist.
